Ruth (Standley) Wallis

DANVERS - Mrs. Ruth S. Wallis, 101, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 at Hathorne Hill in Danvers.

Born in Danvers, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Sarah (Wiggin) Standley, and the wife of the late Frederick A. Wallis.

Mrs. Wallis was a lifelong resident of Danvers. She attended the former Holten High School in Danvers, graduating with the class of 1938. Ruth went on to further her education at the Salem Commercial School.

Following graduation, Mrs. Wallis began working for the Essex Aggie School where she was a secretary for many years.

Ruth was devoted to her Christian faith, and was a long-time member of the Maple Street Congregational Church in Danvers. She was a loving wife and mother, dedicating her life to her daughter, Ann. Ruth could often be found in her yard, where she enjoyed tending to her garden and yard.

Ruth is survived by her dear friends, Mark and Deborah Dabrieo of Danvers, and their children, Matt and Jillian. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Wallis, her daughter, Ann E. Wallis, and her parents; Lewis and Sarah Standley.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held graveside at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, 185 Lake St, Peabody, on Friday, May 20th at 11 A.M.
