PEABODY - Mrs. Sallie L. (Gillis) Ramos, 76 of Peabody, died Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Lahey Burlington, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Eleanor (Toft) Gillis. Raised and educated in Salem, she was a graduate of Salem High School. Mrs. Ramos was married to and raised a family with Andres C Ramos, then had been employed at Thermal Circuits Inc. in Salem. She was the production supervisor for the heater manufacturing company for many years. A longtime resident of both the City of Salem and Beverly, Mrs. Ramos found great joy in supporting local youth sports. She participated in Drum Corp in her youth. You could also find her, in support of her children, cheering and chaperoning the Beverly Crusaders, Cardinals, and North Star her favorite Drum and Bugle Corps. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help anyone in need of her support and had a special place in her heart for The Home for Little Wanderers. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Sallie's greatest treasure was her family. Her love and devotion will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Sallie is survived by her children Andrew Ramos, Richard Ramos, Juana Emery, Sharon Doucette, Michelle Gilmore and David Ramos, her 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, her brother, Lawrence Gillis and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister Patricia Bertram and her brother Ronald Gillis. ARRANGEMENTS: Her visitation will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) Salem, on Friday, April 14th from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Sallie's memory to The Home for little Wanderers, 10 Guest Street, Boston Ma 02135 or by visiting their website.
