Sally H. (Martin) Knowles

SALEM – Mrs. Sally H. (Martin) Knowles 94, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Robert Knowles, died peacefully, Wednesday, May 25^th, 2022 at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Frank S. and Ethel (Voller) Martin. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1945.

Mrs. Knowles began her professional career with the former New England Tel & Tel. While working for the telephone company she met the love of her life Robert. Over her career she had been associated with the former Cabot Market Letter and was a teacher’s aide in the City of Salem School System. Most importantly, she dedicated her life to supporting her husband and children and creating a warm and welcoming home for all.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Sally was a lifelong resident of the city of Salem. She was happiest while spending time with her family and supported them in all of their endeavors. Her life became complete upon becoming a grandmother. She will be deeply missed.

Sally is survived by her sons, Scott Knowles and his wife, Kathleen of Danvers, Jonathan Knowles of Salem and Christopher Knowles of Salem, her grandchildren, Jennifer Dawson and her husband, Benjamin, Christine Knowles, Matthew Knowles and his partner, Meagan Jamieson, Casey Knowles and Sarah Knowles and her partner, Teghan Malionek, her great grandson, Finn Dawson, her former daughter-in-law and close friend, Elizabeth Knowles of Salem, her sister-in-law, E. Gwen Martin of York, ME and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Knowles, her brothers, Robert, Richard, Donald and Kenneth Martin and her twin brother Sargent Martin.
