BEVERLY- Mrs. Sheila (Clark) Rood, 70, of Beverly beloved wife of the late David M. Rood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 3, 2020, following a courageous battle with cancer, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Marblehead she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Marjorie (Sweetland) Clark. She was raised and educated in Marblehead and was a graduate of Marblehead High School.
Sheila was very proud of her position as a Nanny for many years that morphed into an extension of her family. Paula & Bruce Gold and Amy & Guy Tully trusted Sheila with their beautiful children and over the years Sheila came to be known as “She She” to Davis, John, Reid & Paris. Sheila embodied what it meant to be a nanny; she was patient, fun, and compassionate. Sheila also really enjoyed creating flower arrangements with her daughter, Carolyn. They owned a flower business for many years together and really enjoyed making people smile with their creations.
Sheila also loved travelling and was always up for an adventure. One of her favorite trips was to France where she retraced her father’s journey storming the beaches of Normandy in WWII. Other favorite spots Sheila enjoyed travelling to included Key West, Arizona & Las Vegas.
Sheila provided a warm and loving home for her family and especially loved her role as Nana. Sheila used any occasion to start a tradition or create a memory her family could hold dear or pass on to the next generation. She was fun loving, always putting others first, and was immensely proud of her children and grandchildren’s milestones and accomplishments. She will be forever remembered for her love of family, her love of desserts and a willingness to help others and will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.
Surviving Sheila are her daughters, Carolyn (Patrick) Gorman of Beverly, and Pamela Antczak of Beverly, her step children, Sarah (David) Timson of Beverly, Michael Rood of Chicago and Jenica (Sean) Walker of Steamboat Springs, CO, her grandchildren, Samantha, AJ, Emily, Patrick, Ethan, Ella, Maya, Paxson, Alani, David and Jessie and her sister Carol Clark of Gloucester.
