Tage Lindroth Obituary

NEWBURYPORT – Mr. Tage Gordon Lindroth, 79, of Newburyport, beloved husband of Katsuko (Kinjo) Lindroth, passed peacefully January 4th, 2022 at his home.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Bror Tage Teodor and Alice Lummus (Durkee) Lindroth. He was raised and educated in Danvers and was a graduate of the former Holten High School in Danvers.

An honorably discharged veteran he served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1961 till 1964 stationed in Okinawa, Japan. While stationed in Okinawa he met the love of his life Katsuko and together they would create a wonderful life together.

Upon returning state side, he began his professional career with the former Babco Products of Danvers. He matriculated to Estabrook Engineering in Rowley and then began a long and illustrious career with United Parcel Service (UPS). He worked as a UPS delivery driver for 32 years until the time of his retirement in 2001. He was affectionately known as “Lucky” by his co-workers and friends. For his hard work and dedication to UPS he was awarded numerous awards and recognitions and was truly respected by all within the company.

A longtime resident of Newburyport, Gordon was a Master Mason and member of Amity Lodge A.F. & A.M. of Danvers and recently earned his 50-year pin. He was a member of the Holten Royal Arch Chapter, Knights Templar-Bethlehem Lewis. He truly enjoyed spending his time out of doors. He was an avid ice fisherman, hunter, gardener and a very skilled Sunday carpenter. His carpentry skills can be witnessed by the many Japanese inspired cabinetry, bookshelves and themed projects at his home. He particularly relished time spent traveling and sightseeing in his RV with his beloved wife. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He fondly remembered his trips to Japan where he traveled by Bullet Train. He was an avid fan of Japanese Sumo Wrestling. Gordon made friends easily and everywhere he ventured. His affable personality endeared him to many. He was a great neighbor and friend and was always there to help those in need, without question.

Above all else, Gordon was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His love and devotion to his family will be his everlasting hallmark. His sprit will live on forever.

Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Katsuko (Kinjo) Lindroth of Newburyport, his daughter, Patricia Lindroth and her husband, Stephen Hochreiter of Phoenix, AZ, his son, Eric Lindroth of Port Charlotte, FL, his grandsons, Jaimes “JT” Huntley, Tyler Lindroth and Devin Lindroth, his bonus granddaughters Carrie Huntley and Kimberly Hochreiter, his brother, Georg Lindroth of Oklahoma, his loving in-laws in Okinawa, along with nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
