BEVERLY - Miss. Thelma Mendez, 95 of Beverly, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at CareOne at Essex Park in Beverly with her family by her side. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Glover) Mendez. Raised and educated in Boston, she attended Boston Public Schools. A talented seamstress, Thelma's expertise allowed her to provide for her family. A loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, family was her greatest joy. Thelma loved listening to music and enjoyed dancing and singing with her family and friends. Her spark for life will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Thelma is survived by her 2 grandchildren, Tracy of FL and Jay Ricci of Malden, her 3 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Bernice Jackson of Salem and Mary Michaux of New York and many nieces and nephews including her care provider Pamela Jackson of Salem. She was predeceased by her daughter, Gloria Mendez and her sister, Jeanette Davis.
