NAPLES, FLORIDA - Mr. Thomas Kennedy Clarke, 91, passed away on July 25th, 2023. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Charlotte Lamson Clarke, who passed away in 2016.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, on January 21st, 1932, he was the son of the late Harry a. and Frances Kennedy Clarke. He was raised and educated in Manhasset, New York.
Tom was a graduate of the Choate School in Wallingford, Ct, Dartmouth College and Columbia University Graduate School of Business and was a CPA. He lived in Montclair, New Jersey from 1962 to 1976 and lived in Avon and Farmington, CT from 1976 to 1995, while serving as Vice-President of Stanley Works, Stanley Black and Decker, in New Britain, CT, with responsibilities as Chief Financial Officer, then Corporate Development and Strategic Planning.
Mr. Clarke was active in a number of local charitable and national professional organizations including the New Britain YMCA, where he was Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and the Washington D.C. based Manufacturer's Alliance for Productivity & Innovation, where he was chairman of the Strategic Planning and Development Council.
In 1995, Tom and his wife moved to Naples, Florida, where they lived in the Audubon Country Club Community and then Moorings Park. He was active in several local organizations and was a member of Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church and the Royal Poinciana Golf Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela (Larry) Hicks of Marco Island, Fl and his companion, Betty Holm. In addition to his loving wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Lamson Clarke and a sister, Mary Ann Wesser.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held, graveside, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield, Tuesday, August 15th at 11 A.M.
