Vera Flint Obituary

BEVERLY – Mrs. Vera (Pisani) Flint 97, of Beverly, wife of the late Robert E. Flint, died unexpectedly April 8, 2020 at Beverly Hospital following a valiant battle with the Corona Virus.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Yadisernia) Pisani. She was raised and educated in Beverly, attended the Beverly School System and was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1940.

In addition to, raising her two sons, Vera was the welcoming face behind the counter at the family owned grocery stores, Pisani Market and Shop-A-While, both of Beverly. Following her retirement, Mrs. Flint stayed in touch with friends, attended church services with them and enjoyed socializing after Mass. Vera was a devoted communicant of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Beverly.

Vera will be remembered for her kind and loving nature, as noted in her high school year book, “Gentleness to all mankind”, which was truly her life’s motto; her love of animals, especially her beloved cats, most recently “Sandy” and her other feline friends over the years and her devotion to her family. Her favorite past times were reading, especially Harlequin Romance novels and completing crossword puzzles from the latest People magazine.

She was the last surviving member of her generation of the Pisani family, a proud and impactful Beverly household, who are an integral part of the fabric of the community. Vera has now joined her beloved siblings in heaven. Family, faith and friends, all three were the center of her life. She will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Vera is survived by her sons, Gary Flint, with whom she resided, of Beverly and Robert Flint and his wife Arlene of Sandown, NH, her beloved daughter-in-law, Donna Flint of Hamilton, her grandchildren, Peter Flint and his wife Arielle, Jami Flint, Mary Grace Flint, Matthew Flint and Isabella Flint, her great grandson, Cody Flint and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Anthony Pisani and Michael Pisani Jr., and her 10 sisters: Ernestine Pinciaro, twins, Margaret Mirandi and Evelyn Mobilia, Josephine Cookson, Yolanda Essler, Helen Rossi, Olga Stewart, Gloria Durkee, Rosemary Pisani, and Shirley Levesque.
