Virginia Panarese Obituary

DANVERS- Mrs. Virginia A. (Hodgdon) Panarese, of Danvers formerly of Lynnfield, beloved wife of Gennaro Panarese, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020 at Beverly Hospital.

Born in Winchester she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Constance (Knight) Hodgdon.  She was raised and educated on Martha’s Vineyard and was a graduate of Oak Bluffs High School. Virginia continued her education receiving her associate’s degree from Fisher College in Boston. Mrs. Panarese had been employed as a Union secretary for the General Electric Company for many years.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was generous with her time and love, Virginia was very proud of her children and their many accomplishments and was truly happiest when doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

An avid reader, Virginia also loved and was well versed in politics, she had strong opinions when it came to politics and was not afraid to share them. Virginia will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends. She was a descendant of Lieutenant Samuel Forster, Manchester Company Militia, who carried the Forster Flag, a revolutionary war-era flag from 1794, which her family owned until 1975.

Surviving Virginia, in addition to her husband with whom she shared 65 years of marriage, are her daughters, Susan Lynch of Danvers and John Lynch of Peabody, Claudia Jeanmaire and her husband Mark of Marshfield, and Donna Madden and her husband Peter of Middleton, her grandchildren, Erich Jeanmaire and his wife Kristen of Providence, RI, Craig Jeanmaire and his fiancé Stephanie Mello of Plymouth, Michelle Kundicz and her husband Daniel of Middleton, Gina Macera of Middleton, Allison Lynch of East Providence, RI and two great-grandchildren, Taytum Jeanmaire and Nathan Kundicz.
