SALEM- Mr. William F. Geary Sr., 86 of Salem, beloved husband of the late Mary (Eagar) Geary, passed away on Thursday December 17, 2020 at the Jeffrey & Susan Brudnick Center in Peabody.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edward and Margaret (Anketell) Geary. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School Class of 1953.

An honorably discharged veteran, Bill proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Geary embarked on a long career with the General Electric Company, in their Aircraft Engine Department, as a quality control inspector for over 26 years where he was known for his strong work ethic, his expertise in his field and dedication to the company.

A long-time communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Bill was devoted to his family and faith. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose family meant the world to him. He was thankful every day to have married Mary “Sis” the love of his life and was a proud father and grandfather, who enjoyed being involved in his children and grandchildren’s many activities and supportive of their countless endeavors. He was a lifelong resident of the City of Salem, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Veragua Council #76 of Salem and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed bowling and played for the local softball team for several years. He will be fondly remembered for his love of family, a good joke and quick smile and deeply missed by his family and many friends.

Surviving Bill is his daughter, Maureen Geary of Salem and his son, William Geary Jr., and his wife, Laura of Salem, his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Geary and her fiancé, Brett LeBaron of Dover, NH and Will Geary of Salem, his brothers, Charles Geary and his wife, Barbara of Salisbury, Richard Geary of Homestead, FL, Daniel Geary and his wife, Alaine of Danvers and Robert Geary of Sun City, AZ, his sister-in-law, Arlene Geary of Belmont and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edward J. Geary.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody on Friday, June 4th at 10 A.M. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem.
