William L'Italien

SALEM- Mr. William R. L’Italien, 64, of Salem, beloved Husband of Phat (Phin) L’Italien, passed away on July 11, 2021 at Lahey Hospital in Burlington, surrounded by his family.

Born in Salem, he was the son of Eileen (Deschene) L’Italien and the late Wilbur L’Italien. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

Mr. L’Italien had been employed in the manufacturing industry for many years until the time of his retirement. More recently, he had been a school bus driver for children with special needs and truly enjoyed the relationships he made with all of the children in his care.

William was a true family man whose sense of humor was contagious. He was happiest when surrounded by his family, either at a cookout or the casino. He also enjoyed watching his favorite television series and playing golf. He was devoted to his wife and mother and will be deeply missed.

William is survived by his wife, Phat L’Italien of Salem, his mother, Eileen (Deschene) L’Italien of Salem, his daughters, Alyssa Staples of Salem, Aimee Baratz of Danvers, and Elizabeth L’Italien of Salem, and his granddaughter, Aubrey Baratz. He will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Brenda Harvey and her husband, Ray, of Salem, Nancy Zanuccoli of Salem and Thomas L’Italien and his wife, Joanna, of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was the brother of the late Robert L’Italien and brother-in-law of the late David Zanuccoli.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral service which will be held in O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Square., Salem, MA 01970 on Saturday, July 17th at 12:15 P.M.
