PEABODY – Mr. William "Bill" F. Fouhey, 68 of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Nancy J. (Peterson) Fouhey, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late James and Dorothy (Queenan) Fouhey. Bill continued his education at Salem State College and eventually earned a Masters Degree in Education from Fitchburg State College.
Bill’s calling was in education, as evidenced by his 35 years spent teaching, first as a high-school biology teacher, then as a computer science teacher in the Billerica public school system. He was a great man, loving and providing husband and father, a loyal friend, and the best Poppa anyone could have asked for. Known for his quick wit and intelligence, he was able to spark a conversation with anyone. He was also a voracious reader, powering through anything science fiction, historical fiction or history related within a few days. His favorite moments were spent reading with his “Sweetie” while she watched game shows, or playing with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
