TOPSFIELD-Mr. Alan L. Grenier, 72 of Topsfield, passed away suddenly on Monday July 2, 2018 at his home. Born in Fall River he was the son of the late Leo and Edna (Millette) Grenier. He was raised in Swansea and was a graduate of Coyle High School in Taunton. Alan continued his education, receiving his undergraduate degree from Brown University and his Juris Doctor from Boston University School of Law. Mr. Grenier was the founder of Grenier and Associates of Topsfield, where he helped many navigate through the complex world of real estate law. He was known for his expertise and was well respected in his field. In addition, he was a past president of the North Bay Council Boy Scouts of America and the Danvers Rotary Club and a member of the American Legion Post 255 in Topsfield. He had a deep love for family and was happiest when with his children and grandchildren who fondly knew him as "Papa Bear". He loved travelling with his companion Joyce and enjoyed just spending time with his loyal canine companion Snookie. He will be remembered as a kind and generous man and will be deeply missed by his loving family and friends. Surviving Alan are his daughters, Jill Hoffman and her husband Timothy of North Billerica and Beth Kleinschmidt and her husband Ken of Copley, Ohio, his grandchildren, Tanner Hoffman and Chase and Brady Kleinschmidt, his sister Linda Zollin of Northbridge and his loving companion Joyce Volpe of Stoneham. ARRANGEMENTS: A visitation will be held in the Peterson O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (rte. 62) Danvers on Monday July 16th from 5 to 7 P.M. Relatives and friends invited.
