Obituary

SALEM – Mr. Albert Joseph Morneau, 87, a lifelong resident of the City of Salem, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 16th, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Salem on October 19, 1936, Albert was the son of the late Joseph and Elaine (Cote) Morneau. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, class of 1954.

A machinist by trade, Albert dedicated his professional career as a machinist working for the United Shoe Machinery Corporation in Beverly for many years. Later in life, Al worked in maintenance for the Town of Marblehead School department until the time of his retirement at age 75.

A kind man with an infectious smile and easy-going personality, Al enjoyed the simplicities of life which involved being home, enjoying classic rock music, dancing, being with his family, especially his beloved German Shepherd, supporting a local Boston sports' team and enjoying a delicious sweet treat. He had a skillful eye and craftsmanship when it came to machinery and carpentry and he created beautiful and lasting pieces for all to treasure. He will be deeply missed by all.

Preceding him in death his wife, Barbara Molton; Siblings Edmond Morneau, Norman Morneau and Jannette Langerin.

Albert is survived by his daughters, Linda Adcock (Jerry Adcock) of Smithville, TN and Donna Berube (the late Mark Berube) of Lisbon Falls, ME; his 7 grandchildren, Ryan Hayes, David Hayes, Nicole Norman, Nadine Berube, Monica Morrissette, Eric Adcock and Kristen Adcock; 11 great-grandchildren, Brittany and Brook Norman, Caleb Berube, Ava Kottman, Keeghan Morrissette, Brayden and Lincoln Hayes, Jerrod and Blakeley Braseel, and Arya, Lyren and Jezze Adcock; Longtime partner Dora Cyr; his siblings, Roger Morneau and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Albert's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Wednesday, August 21st at 11 A.M. All other services are private.
