BEVERLY- Alberta Mary (Connor) Boyd, 91, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 at the Ledgewood Rehab and Nursing Center in Beverly, MA. Alberta was born June 2, 1932 in Peabody, MA to Doris (Matheson) Connor and William Connor.

Alberta grew up in Salem, MA. After graduating from Salem High School in 1950, she was employed at The United Shoe Company, in Beverly, MA. Alberta always said how much she loved that job in the office, working with numbers. She held many interesting jobs over the years, eventually retiring from Medtronic in Danvers, MA.

In 1952 she married Andrew Joseph Boyd of Norwich, CT. They went on to have four children. A wonderful loving Mom and great cook, her children never came home from school without a delicious homemade dessert waiting for them. A beautiful woman inside and out, she was kind and comforting.  Alberta loved planting flowers and had a beautiful rock garden. She loved reading. When she had the chance, she would hit the slot machines at Foxwoods. She loved having pizza at Sam and Joe's.

Alberta's greatest accomplishment was her family. Alberta is survived by her son Michael Boyd and his wife Dawn of Fort Myers, FL, daughter Susan (Boyd) Maloney of Rocky Hill, CT, son Andrew Boyd and his wife Cynthia of Marblehead, MA. Her grandchildren, Stephanie Cooper and husband Terry, Kristen Boyd, Jennifer Boyd, Lauren Maloney and husband Ryan, Derek Maloney, and Eric Boyd. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Anna Connor, and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew, her beloved son Thomas Boyd, and brothers John Connor and Paul Connor.

ARRANGEMENTS:  Relatives and friends are invited to Alberta's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (At Salem Common) Salem on Monday August 5, 2024 at 10 A.M.  Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery Salem. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Alberta's memory to the American Cancer Society or St Jude Children's Hospital.
