SALEM – Alexander "Cley" Hernandez Negron, 53, of Salem, died peacefully on May 12, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico, he was the son Alfredo and Luz Maria Negron Hernandez. Cley was raised and educated in Puerto Rico.

A loving son, father, uncle, devoted friend, and the family's cherished comedian, Cley was known for his infectious laughter, larger-than-life personality, and special talent for rapping, often entertaining friends and family, who would cheer him on with pride. No gathering was ever complete without his loud voice filling the room, and his humor brought joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Cley had a passion for fishing, often spending quiet afternoons by the water, rods in hand, where he found peace in the great outdoors. He also loved boxing, whether it was in the ring or cheering on his favorite fighters, Cley found a sense of purpose and excitement in the sport that inspired those around him. He also had a quirky love for picking up scrap metal, always on the lookout for hidden treasures others might overlook. This hobby turned into a little adventure that showcased his resourcefulness and creativity; he had a knack for seeing potential in everything. Family gatherings will forever be quieter without his boisterous presence, but his spirit will live on in the laughter and memories he created. Cley had a heart of gold and a genuine ability to uplift those around him.

Cley is survived by his longtime partner, Normaris Guzman, his father, Alfredo Hernandez, his sons, Clay Hernandez and Christian Hernandez, his siblings, Carlos Hernandez, Luis Santiago Negron, Neyda Hernandez, Lisette Hernandez, and Jaqueline Hernandez, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his mother, Luz Maria Negron.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to Cley's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Friday, May 16th, 2025 at 7 PM. SALEM – Alexander "Cley" Hernández Negron, de 53 años y residente de Salem, falleció en paz el 12 de mayo de 2025 en su hogar, rodeado de su querida familia. Nacido en Utuado, Puerto Rico, era hijo de Alfredo y Luz María Negron Hernández. Cley se crio y educó en Puerto Rico.

Amado hijo, padre, tío, amigo fiel y apreciado comediante de la familia, Cley era conocido por su risa contagiosa, su personalidad desbordante y su talento especial para el rap, que a menudo entretenía a amigos y familiares, quienes lo animaban con orgullo. Ninguna reunión estaba completa sin su potente voz, y su humor alegraba a todos los que tuvieron el placer de conocerlo.

Cley era un apasionado de la pesca y solía pasar tardes tranquilas junto al agua, caña en mano, donde encontraba paz al aire libre. También amaba el boxeo, ya fuera en el ring o animando a sus boxeadores favoritos. Cley encontró en este deporte un propósito y una emoción que inspiraban a quienes lo rodeaban. También tenía una peculiar afición por recoger chatarra, siempre en busca de tesoros escondidos que otros podrían pasar por alto. Esta afición se convirtió en una pequeña aventura que puso de manifiesto su ingenio y creatividad; tenía un don para ver el potencial en todo.

Las reuniones familiares serán siempre más tranquilas sin su bulliciosa presencia, pero su espíritu perdurará en las risas y los recuerdos que creó. Cley tenía un corazón de oro y una genuina capacidad para animar a quienes lo rodeaban.

A Cley le sobreviven su pareja de muchos años, Normaris Guzmán; su padre, Alfredo Hernández; sus hijos, Clay Hernández y Christian Hernández; sus hermanos, Carlos Hernández, Luis Santiago Negrón, Neyda Hernández, Lisette Hernández y Jaqueline Hernández; y numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y primos. Le precedió en la muerte su madre, Luz María Negrón.
