SALEM, MA & SANTO DOMINGO, DR - Alex Perez Gomez, 42 of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, formerly of Salem and Lynn, Massachusetts, passed away tragically during a home invasion, on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
Alex was the beloved son and first true love of Maria Elena Gomez and Alejandro Perez. He was raised and educated in both Salem and Lynn Public Schools and formed lasting friendships and connections within the United States and Dominican Republic throughout his life.
A larger-than-life personality, Alex endeared himself to many with his charisma and energy. He was a free spirit, limitless when it came to ideas and always wanted to better himself. By learning more, trusting in his spirituality, developing deeper relationships and healthier lifestyles he truly was engaging. Alex had true passion as a sneaker and hat collector starting from the beginning of his career working for Footlocker. He was a true salesperson and excelled in his career in sales. Alex worked as a sales representative at Sprint, leading him to quickly move through the management ladder.
A truly iconic man with style and swag, Alex took great pride in his appearance. He was a dreamer, always thinking of the next best thing, the newest look and wildly took chances, living in the moment. Alex shared a deep connection by the special bonds of love he shared with the many strong women in his life, including his loving mother, Maria Elena and devoted sisters, Sara, Maria Alejandra, Ellyenid and Gina. Alex loved his children Joshua & Nathan immensely; he passed with the regret of not being able to give them one more hug or kiss. In addition to loving his family, Alex deeply loved animals and had a charitable heart always helping those less fortunate.
In addition to his loving mother, Maria Elena, Alex is survived by his father Alejandro, his sons Joshua & Nathan, nieces/nephews; Sarianne, Kevin, Jaydalise, Saribelle, Alexsa, Marianna, Giana, Elijah, Armani, Sebastian, Chailoh and great niece Zerah.
