Alice L. (Mackey) Johnson

PEABODY – Mrs. Alice L. (Mackey) Johnson, 99, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Atty. Richard O. Johnson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12th at Brooksby Village senior living community.

Alice resided in Salem for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Alice (Geary) Mackey, the loving and devoted mother of daughters Judith, Gail and the late Joan and delighted grandma to 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Alice was pre-deceased by her brothers Charles, Daniel, Herbert Jr., and Edward and sister Mary (Nabozny). She is survived by her sister Cecelia Berlyn of Flagstaff, AZ and has many nieces and nephews and their families, living in and beyond the Salem area.

Alice was educated in Salem public schools and worked over the years at the Shawmut Bank and other Boston companies. She was an avid skier into her 70s and along with husband Richard enjoyed cruising the New England coastline as longtime members of the Boston Yacht Club.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 21st at 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 15 Hawthorne Blvd., Salem, MA. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
