DANVERS – Mrs. Alice Florence (Tarnowski) St. Pierre, 97 of Danvers and the loving wife of the late Kenneth St. Pierre, Sr. passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Alice was born on October 27, 1928, to the late Joseph and Helen (Mazeikus) Tarnowski. She was raised and educated in Salem where she had a happy childhood. She attended the Bentley and Phillips Schools and then went onto Salem High School. Alice loved her high school years where she met her future husband and lifelong friends. Throughout high school, Alice was very active, she was the president of the Spanish club, played sports and proudly served as the 1946 class president. After her graduation, she was instrumental in planning numerous class reunions.
Alice continued her education at Salem Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1950. Alice enjoyed nursing very much working at Salem Hospital in Pediatrics. Throughout her professional career, she also worked as a Registered Nurse at Sylvania and General Electric and various north shore hospitals and with Dr. Nathaniel McDonald’s office, retiring at the age of 75. She proudly severed two-year terms as an Assistant Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Salem Nurses Alumni.
In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, Kenneth. As a professional baseball player, they traveled to Quebec, where they had their first child. Kenneth was called to the United States Navy and Alice became a devoted Navy wife, relocating to Virginia. Alice and Ken returned to Danvers after his discharge from the Navy where they raised their nine children. As a family, they were communicants of St. Thomas Catholic Church and Alice was a member of the Bishop Fenwick Mother’s Club and was active within the community.
Aside from her professional career, Alice enjoyed the North Shore Music Theater, the casino’s, spending winters in Palm Beach and Port St. Lucie, Florida and spending time in North Conway, New Hampshire. She also enjoyed spending moments at the ballpark, football field, ice rink, basketball court and field hockey, watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice would like to be remembered as always being there for anyone. She was proud of her polish heritage and her catholic religion and her wish for her children to always love God and each other. May she rest in peace.
Alice is survived by her children, Robin Diachisin and her husband, Walter of Peabody, Nancy Rezza of Merrimac, Cynthia Milbury of Danvers, Ted St. Pierre and his wife, Beth of Topsfield, Michelle Sweeney and her husband, Brian of Danvers, Patricia King of Peabody, and Lloyd “Duke” St. Pierre and his wife, Karen of Danvers; her beloved 29 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Linda Barr of Beverly, several nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Margaret St. Pierre of Danvers and Jeanne St. Pierre; and former daughter-in-law, Lisa Brown. Alice was predeceased by her beloved parents, Joseph and Helen; devoted husband, Kenneth; sons, Kenneth St. Pierre, Jr. and Stephen St. Pierre; her granddaughters, Tania Diachisin and Randee St. Pierre; great-granddaughter, Nicole King; and siblings, Helen Jiadosz, Joseph Tarnowski, Jr and Sophia Grasso.
The St. Pierre family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude for the amazing care she received by the dedicated staff of hunt nursing and rehabilitation center of Danvers.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friend are invited to attend Alice’s funeral which will be held at O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Thursday, January 22nd at 9 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass which will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, 1 Margin St., Peabody at 10 A.M. Her burial will follow at Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 21st from 4 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alice’s memory may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215.
