SALEM - Altagracia Tamara Calderón, 82 of Salem, beloved wife of the late Rafael Brache, died peacefully on August 22nd, 2024 at her home with her family by her side.
Born in San José de Ocoa, Dominican Republic, she was the daughter of the late Fredesvindo Calderón and Isabel Mejía. She was raised and educated in San José de Ocoa and immigrated to the United States settling in Salem in 1988 where she has since resided.
Mrs. Calderón had been employed as a director of the Department of the Social Services in the San José de Ocoa in the Dominican Republic for many years. She also had been employed from 1976 to 1988 as an Administrator for the Tourism company Rancho Francisco.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Altagracia enjoyed embroidery. She was extremely talented in this discipline and it wasn't only a hobby but a business that she ran making clothing for others to enjoy. She enjoyed walking, going to flea markets, and always bartering for a deal or discount. Laughing all along the way.
The two most important things to her were her family and faith. She was devoted to both. Upon losing her husband at a young age she devoted her life to working hard to create a better life experience for her children. She took great pride in being able to help her family.
Altagracia is survived by her daughters, Caridad Brache, Ana Brache and Carmen Brache, her grandchildren, Ines Rojas, Luis Rojas, Anaisa Rojas, Tayanna Pimentel and Anyfern González, Dariela Alcantara, John Ledesma and Ysamarie Ledesma, her great grandchildren, Luis Rojas Jr, Luis Alberto, Kimberly Alberto, Angel Alberto and Adiel Geraldino, Kayden Pimentel and Carter, Cruz and Cooper Girten.

SALEM - Altagracia Tamara Calderón, 82 años de Salem, amada esposa del fallecido Rafael Brache, falleció pacíficamente el 22 de agosto de 2024 en su casa con su familia a su lado.
Nacida en San José de Ocoa, República Dominicana, era hija del fallecido Fredesvindo Calderón e Isabel Mejía. Se crió y educó en San José de Ocoa y emigró a los Estados Unidos estableciéndose en Salem en 1988, donde reside desde entonces.
La Sra. Calderón había trabajado como directora del Departamento de Servicios Sociales en San José de Ocoa en la República Dominicana durante muchos años. También trabajó de 1976 a 1988 como Administradora de la empresa de Turismo Rancho Francisco.
Altagracia, una amorosa esposa, madre, abuela y bisabuela, disfrutaba bordar. Tenía mucho talento en esta disciplina y no era sólo un pasatiempo sino un negocio que dirigía fabricando ropa para que otros la disfrutaran. Le gustaba caminar, ir a mercadillos y siempre negociar para conseguir una oferta o un descuento. Riéndose todo el camino.
Las dos cosas más importantes para ella eran su familia y su fe. Ella estaba dedicada a ambos. Al perder a su esposo a una edad temprana, dedicó su vida a trabajar duro para crear una mejor calidad de vida para sus hijos. Se sentía muy orgullosa de poder ayudar a su familia.
A Altagracia le sobreviven sus hijas, Caridad Brache, Ana Brache y Carmen Brache, sus nietos, Ines Rojas, Luis Rojas, Anaisa Rojas, Tayanna Pimentel y Anyfern González, Dariela Alcantara, John Ledesma e Ysamarie Ledesma, sus bisnietos, Luis Rojas Jr., Luis Alberto, Kimberly Alberto, Angel Alberto y Adiel Geraldino, Kayden Pimentel y Carter, Cruz y Cooper Girten.
