(Kozlowski) Kohn
March 21, 1919 – August 13, 2022
SALEM - Mrs. Alyce J. (Kozlowski) Kohn, 103, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Chester J. Kohn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem she was the daughter of Polish immigrants and grew up on Dearborn St. in Salem. As a teenager she worked at Parker Brothers Games assembling the infamous Monopoly Game.
Alyce met Chet in High School and at the time he was a member of the Stewart 4 singing group that played on WMEX Boston radio. Together they would spend every Sunday night listening to the show. They later married and lived in Salem and raised their two daughters Barbara and Patricia. Alyce was a hands-on mom and involved in her children's many activities and relished in their many accomplishments and milestone. Alyce cared and tended to the special needs of her daughter Barbara at home for over eighteen years prior to her moving to the Hogan Regional Center.
Alyce was faithful Republican who travelled to Washington D.C to visit the White House where she met President Nixon and First Lady Pat Nixon. She along with her husband Chet were very active members of the Lions Club. Alyce was a lifetime member of the House of Seven Gables and continued to volunteer at Hogan Regional Center for many years.
Alyce was a special wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who was loving, caring and fun even at the ripe old age of 103 ½. She came to her end with peace and grace in her heart as she went on her welcomed final journey.
Surviving Alyce is her daughter Patricia Hayden and her husband William of Lebanon, ME and several nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Barbara Kohn.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service which will be held in St. Mary's Cemetery, 226 North St., Salem on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 11 A.M. Followed by a Celebration of Life at the home of John Archer, 10 North St., Danvers. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq.
