Ocando Bell

PALM BEACH, FLORIDA – Amaya J. (Ocando) Bell, 75, beloved wife of Stephen A. Bell, passed away December 20th, 2024 in The Prescott House of North Andover in the presence of her loving family.
Amaya was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela to the late Jose and Angela (Moran) Ocando. She was raised and educated in Maracaibo and relocated to the United States in 1968 at the age of 19. She lived in Virginia to begin and later moved to the Boston. Amaya did dabble in the world of real estate but was a devoted homemaker for most of her professional life.
Amaya was an amazing fisher and travelled the world to excel in her craft. Fly fishing was her favorite and this allowed her to visit Costa Rica, Portugal, the Bahamas, the Andros Islands and all around the United States.
Amaya's superpower was being the glue to her family and a natural caregiver. She was known to be an excellent cook and could clean a stain out of anything. Amaya was an active seamstress; as her family described, she could buy a tablecloth and some lace and magically transform them into a wedding dress in two days. Her creativity and artistic value were a wonderful asset among her caring nature and warm energy.
Along with her loving husband of 45 years, Amaya is survived by her step-children, Sean Bell, Kevin Bell, Scott Bell, Kristin Hentschel and her husband Neil, Bonnie Bell, Sharon Bell, and Kari Goodwin, her grandchildren Pauline Rylance, Phillip Bell, Hannah Eckes, Larissa Hentschel, Elysia Hentschel, Stephen Hentschel, William Hentschel, Angela Victoria Bell and Andrea Grace Bell, her great grandchildren, Joshua Bell, Leah Bell and Lilly Smith, her sister Grecia Ocando and niece Isabelle along with her best friend Sylvia.
