LYNN - Mrs. Ana Maria D. (Donoso Gallardo) Ellis, 84 of Lynn beloved wife of the late Elwood Ellis died Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Landmark at Ocean View in Beverly surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Rancagua, Chile, she was the daughter of the late Luis Donoso Martinez and Mercedes (Salinas) Gallardo Donosos. Raised and educated in Chile, she was a High School graduate and continued her education in Fashion Design as a Seamstress and a Nursing Assistant.
At 19 years old, Ana traveled to France and made France her home for 2 years. After living in France, Ana moved to the United States residing in Cambridge, Arlington and surrounding Boston cities and eventually found her home in Lynn, Massachusetts.
A longtime resident of the City of Lynn, Mrs. Ellis had been employed as a Nursing Assistant for the Lynn Union Hospital for many years until her retirement in 1989. Her compassion and dedication to her clients never lessened throughout her work as she truly enjoyed caring for the many members within her community.
A loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Ana loved to spend time with her family and was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott. Her generosity and caring heart will be greatly missed.
Ana is survived by her daughter; Mireya D. Ellis of Whitinsville, MA, her son-in-law; Miguel Angel Balcazar Piedrasanta of Boston, her grandson; Miguel Balcazar of Whitinsville, MA, her great-grandson; Aiden Turcotte Balcazar of Milford and her brothers; Jorge "Gorge" Donoso Gallardo and Carlos "Charles" Donoso Gallardo both of Chile. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Elwood and her sister, Gloria Donoso Gallardo.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in The Forsyth Chapel at Forest Hill Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Avenue, Boston, MA on Wednesday, November 1st at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Forrest Hills Cemetery, Boston. Visiting hours will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers on Tuesday, October 31st from 4 to 8 P.M.
