(Stever) Houghton
July 14, 1943 – August 6, 2022
SALEM – Mrs. Ann Elizabeth (Stever) Houghton 79, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Jerrold S. Houghton, died peacefully, Saturday, August 6 th , 2022 at Massachusetts General Hospital with her beloved children by her side.
Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Clark and Sarah (Martin) Stever. She was raised and educated in Swampscott and was a graduate of Swampscott High School.
Mrs. Houghton had been employed for many years with the former NYNEX Telephone Company in Advertising Sales until the time of her retirement. In retirement, she began a home child care company. She was much beloved by the children in her care and fondly remembers her time spent with Lily and Dylon. She truly treated the kids as her own and they in turn loved her back.
A long-time resident of the City of Salem, Ann was devoted to her family first and foremost. Ann worked hard to make a nice life for her family. Her children never went without as she gave her all to make sure her children were happy.
Ann had a love of Hallmark movies and her "shows". She enjoyed games of chance and especially relished spending time with her beloved feline companion Peanut. She will be always remembered and forever missed.
Ann is survived by her daughter, Cindy Demille and her husband, Michael of Salem, her son, Jerrold A. Houghton and his wife, Laury of Danvers, her grandchildren, Kayla Houghton, Cassie and Christyna Demille, Justin, Blakely and Christopher Houghton, her great grandchildren, Dante and Lennon Houghton and her dear cousin Paula McGonigle of Alfred ME, her dear niece, Danielle Madruga and several additional nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of Ann's life which will be held at the Gerry 5 Function Hall, 210 Beacon St., Marblehead, Saturday, September 10th from 4 to 7 P.M. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM.
