(Sebastiana) Farinelli
February 21, 1932 – September 23, 2016
BEVERLY- Mrs. Anna A. (DiFranco) Farinelli, 84, a lifelong resident of Beverly, beloved wife of the late Anthony Farinelli, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage, passed away at Sunrise at Gardner Park, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Angelina (Amenta) DiFranco. She was raised and educated in Salem.
Anna loved to bowl and participated in a Beverly bowling league for over 30 years. She was a devoted Red Sox and Bruins fan. She and Tony took many winter trips to Florida with family and friends. Her passion was going to Foxwoods, where she won playing Craps and Slot Machines. She enjoyed playing cribbage and dice with her grandkids. She will always be remembered for her famous Italian cookies and her secret recipe for Lobster Sauce. In her free time, she engulfed herself in romantic novels but she will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
She was employed by the Beverly Police Department as a well-known crossing guard for many years, a job she was very proud of. She cared for the safety of the girls and boys she crossed. Anna will be deeply missed by her family and the many lives she touched over the years and recently, her newest extended family, at Sunrise.
Anna is survived by her son Bill Farinelli and his wife Jude of Danvers, her daughters, Pat Wojcik and her husband Phil of Peabody, Ann Gelineau and her husband Paul, Carol Williams and her husband Dyke, all of Amesbury and her Daughter - in-law Linda Farinelli of Groveland, thirteen grandchildren, Matthew and David Farinelli, JP Wojcik, Kelley Shields, Christopher, Jill, and Jenny Gelineau, Heather Sheehan, Crystal and Tim Williams, Dan, Tom and Ken Farinelli, her three great-grandchildren, Brayden and Michaela Gelineau and Dannie Sheehan. She also leaves her sisters Rose and Jim Gardner of Hudson, NH, Dot Firl of Oshgosh, WI and her brothers, Joe and Marie DiFranco of Peabody, Charlie and Anne DiFranco of Merrimac, NH and her sister-in-law Mary (Mickey) DeFranco of Salem. She was also the mother of the late John Farinelli and sister of the late Sam DeFranco, Carmelo and Paul DiFranco.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Balch St., Beverly, Wednesday September 28th at 11 A.M. Visiting hours are Tuesday, Sept. 27th from 4 to7 P.M. at the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St. (Rte 62) Danvers. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Anna's memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
