(Femino) Volpe

SALEM – Mrs. Anne Eleanor (Femino) Volpe 108, of Salem, beloved wife of the late John R. Volpe, died peacefully, July 3rd, 2023.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Stefano and Olivia "Leah" (Ingemi) Femino. She was raised and educated in Salem and attended Salem High School. She grew up on Gedney Court in the Italian section of Salem, having many friends and family surrounding her.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mrs. Volpe dedicated her life to her family. She always supported and encouraged her husband and children in all of their endeavors and took great pride in providing a warm and loving home for all her family.
A lifelong, 108-year resident of the City of Salem, Mrs. Volpe was one of the oldest living residents on the North Shore of Massachusetts. She resided independently until this past March. Anne was a dedicated communicant of the former St. Mary's Italian Church in Salem and a member of the St. Mary's Italian Holy Rosary Ladies Sodality and the St. Mary's Church Choir. She was a life member and active participant in the Sons of Italy, Veturia Romana #1200 of Salem. She will be deeply missed.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Marianne Bonaiuto and her husband, Mark of Homosassa, Fl, her sons, Dr. Joseph Volpe and his wife, Sara of Brookline and Stephen C. Volpe of Salem, her grandchildren, Kristina Sholds, Stephen M. Volpe, Joanna Volpe-Vartanian, Joseph A. Volpe, John M.Volpe, Peter Gidlow, Ted Gidlow and Adam Gidlow, her 8 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was the mother-in-law of the late Gloria M. Volpe and sister of the late Mary Della Monica, Rose Rizzotti, Jenny Rizzotti, Dominic Femino, Johnny Femino and Joseph Femino.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral will be held from O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, Saturday, July 8th at 9:15 A.M. followed by her funeral Mass at Ste. Anne's Church Jefferson Ave., Salem at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Friday, July 7th from 4 to 7 P.M. in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Anne's memory to Age Span, Attn: Development Office, 280 Merrimack Street, Ste 400, Lawrence, MA 01843.
