Obituary

SALEM – Mr. Antonio Duran 82, of Salem, beloved husband of Juana Hernandez Duran, died peacefully, Thursday, December 28th, 2023 at Salem Hospital.

Born in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic, he was the son of the late Felix and Fidelisa (Mena) Duran. He was raised and educated in Jarabacoa, D.R. and immigrated to the United States in 1984 making Salem, Massachusetts his forever home.

A hardworking man, Mr. Duran had been employed for many years in the Leather Industry. Most recently he had been employed with Travel Leather until the time of his retirement.

A long-time resident of the city of Salem, Antonio was devoted to his family. He enjoyed spending his time playing dominos and was passionate about raising his roosters. Above all else he was supportive of his family and all of their endeavors.

Antonio is survived by his loving wife Juana Hernandez Duran of Salem, his children, Germania, Reina, Christina, Amarili, Sugenny, Bartolo and Yolanda Duran, his 8 grandchildren, his five sisters, three brothers and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He will be deeply missed.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Church, Chestnut St., Peabody, Wednesday, January 3rd at 11 A.M. Relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at the church. SALEM – El Sr. Antonio Durán 82, de Salem, amado esposo de Juana Hernández Durán, falleció pacíficamente el jueves 28 de diciembre de 2023 en el Hospital de Salem.

Nacido en Jarabacoa, República Dominicana, era hijo del fallecido Félix y Fidelisa (Mena) Durán. Fue criado y educado en Jarabacoa, R.D. y emigró a los Estados Unidos en 1984, haciendo de Salem, Massachusetts, su hogar definitivo.

Un hombre trabajador, el Sr. Durán había trabajado durante muchos años en la industria del cuero. Más recientemente había trabajado en Travel Leather hasta el momento de su jubilación.

Antonio, residente desde hace mucho tiempo de la ciudad de Salem, era devoto de su familia. Le gustaba pasar su tiempo jugando dominó y le apasionaba criar sus gallos. Por encima de todo, apoyó a su familia y todos sus esfuerzos.

A Antonio le sobreviven su amada esposa Juana Hernández Durán de Salem, sus hijos, Germania, Reina, Christina, Amarili, Sugenny, Bartolo y Yolanda Durán, sus 8 nietos, sus cinco hermanas, tres hermanos y muchas sobrinas, sobrinos y familiares. Él será profundamente extrañado.

ARREGLOS: Su misa funeral se llevará a cabo en la Iglesia St. John the Baptist, Chestnut St., Peabody, el miércoles 3 de enero a las 11 a.m. Se invita a familiares y amigos a reunirse directamente en la iglesia.
