SALEM – Mr. Antonio Losolfo, 91 of Salem, loving husband of Delia (Santeusanio) Losolfo, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8th, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Villa Tucci, Italy, Antonio was the son of the late Alfonso and Antonietta (Iocco) Losolfo. Antonio was raised and educated in Italy, creating many lifelong memories, marrying his childhood friend Delia in 1956, starting their forever journey to the United States, making Massachusetts their permanent home.
A devoted and hardworking man, Antonio was a pillar of strength for his family, often working multiple jobs simultaneously to ensure his loved ones were always cared for. He dedicated his working career to his skilled craftsmanship, working in landscaping and carpentry, retiring as a carpenter with Salem State University.
His unwavering dedication to his family was evident in all aspects of his life, with his positive words of inspiration serving as a guiding light and often a solid foundation for those around him. Antonio found joy in the simple things, tending to his beautiful vegetable garden and crafting his own wine in his early years. A lover of the outdoors, he often sought solace in nature, enjoying peaceful walks and basking in the beauty of the world around him. Sports held a special place in his heart, with soccer and hockey being among his favorites. He was a loyal supporter of the Boston Bruins, and former member of the Italian American Club in Swampscott. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his loving wife Delia, with whom he shared 67 years of marriage, Antonio is survived by his daughter, Anna McDonagh of Beverly; his son, Mark Losolfo and his wife, Michelle of Salem; his loving grandchildren, Kaitlin Ames and her husband, Oliver, Patrick McDonagh and his wife, Sarah Galison, Emma Losolfo and Ryan Losolfo; great-grandchildren, Henry Ames, Saffron Jade Galison, Soren McDonagh Galison and Story McDonagh Galison; his sister, Jeanette Losolfo and brother, Guiseppe Losolfo and his wife, Maria. Antonio was the brother of the late Maria Pierantoni.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Antonio's funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Saturday, September 21st at 10 A.M. with a visiting hour to be held prior to the service from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. Burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, donations in Antonio's memory may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House (Care Dimensions), 75 Sylvan St., (Suite B-102) Danvers, MA 01923.
