January 3, 1925 – February 25, 2020
SALEM - Ms. Argia R. Migliaccio 95, of Salem, died peacefully, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Seasons of Danvers, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Anna (Dimeglio) Migliaccio. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem Commercial School, class of 1943. Ms. Migliaccio had been employed as an Assembler for over 43 years with G.T.E. Sylvania at its Boston Street, Salem plant, until the time of her retirement in 1988. A lifelong resident of the City of Salem, Argia was a devoted, active member of the former St. Mary's Italian Church in Salem and the St. Mary's Italian Church Women's Sodality. Talented in many ways, Argia enjoyed spending her time painting, gardening and dancing. Her artistic creations truly captured the beauty of her subjects and she would often share her paintings as gifts to family and friends. Forrest River Park and the beach were a few of her favorite landscape subjects. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club at Sylvania and was renowned for her ability to grow prized tomatoes. She spent a year living in Italy in 1935 and created memories that lasted a life time.
She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman, who was devoted to her sister, brother in law and all her family. She had special relationship with her beloved Lennox who affectionately called her Gia. She will be deeply missed.
The last few years she resided at Seasons of Danvers where she was treated with love, care and respect. Her private care nurses, Eleanor and Lisa, also devoted much of their time and love to allowing Argia to maintain her dignity and independence. They are ultimately grateful for all of the care Argia received. Argia is survived by her dearest friends and care givers, Angel Chase-Randall and her husband Charles of Boxford, their son, Brian O'Neill and his wife Amy of Amesbury and their daughter, Lennox, her step niece, Lisa Hill and family, many great nieces and nephews and extended family and friends including the DiYorio family.
