Arlene O. (Blanchard) Cummings DANVERS- Mrs. Arlene O. (Blanchard) Cummings 86 of Danvers, beloved wife of Roland E. Cummings, died Thursday morning at the Cedar Glen Nursing Home in Danvers.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Franklin and Blanche (Smith) Blanchard. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.
Mrs. Cummings began her professional career at the former Ideal baby Shoe Company in Danvers. Prior to her retirement, Arlene had been employed as an administrative assistant at Burnett's Garage in Danvers. An outgoing woman with a kind, and generous spirit, Arlene enjoyed spending time with her "Club", her group of friends that enjoyed crafts. Her outgoing nature allowed her to making many friends, old and new. She took great delight in hosting parties and was always the most courteous host. But above all else her family was paramount. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be deeply missed. In addition to her loving husband of 66 years, Arlene is survived by her daughters, Carol A. Carter and her husband James of Danvers and Kay Ruff and her husband William of Cromwell, Ct., her grandchildren, Nicholas Carter, Nathaniel Carter, Amy Ouimette and Lindsey Albert, her great granddaughter, Evelyn Rose Ouimette and several nieces and nephews. She was also the grandmother of the late Marius T. Carter and sister of the late Elliot Blanchard and Alice Bundy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) Danvers, Monday at 1:30pm. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Spring Street Cemetery, Essex. Visiting hours Sunday from 1 to 3 P.M..
