Obituary

GEORGETOWN – Mr. Arthur M. Rollins Jr., lovingly referred to as "Arty", 75, of Georgetown, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 29th, 2024.

Born in Georgetown, he was the son of the late Arthur M., Sr. and Ruth E. (Gamble) Rollins. He was raised and educated in Georgetown and was a graduate of Georgetown High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Arthur served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army.

Arthur spent the majority of his career working for the family business: Charles M. Rollins Co., Inc., where he was a water pump service technician. If you were to ask Arty himself, his true passions would include animals, vintage cars and gardening. Starting at a young age, he would house and nurture animals of all walks of life. He would always find space in his home to help others with their furry friends. Arty would build intricate dog and bird houses, among many other building projects. He dabbled in the restoration and collecting of vintage cars, often in attendance of car shows. Arty also had an affinity for gardening, where he'd spend many hours maintaining his vines, florals and koi ponds. Arty's spirit will forever be cherished by his family and friends.

Arty is survived by his siblings, Marjorie Doherty of Danvers, George Rollins and his wife, Joan of Groveland, Jeffrey Rollins of Georgetown, Nancy Willis of Salem, NH, Judy Durkee and her husband, David of Groveland, Christopher Rollins and his wife, Mauricia of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Melissa Rollins of Boxford, his 19 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and his beloved canine companion, James. He is predeceased by his parents Arthur M., Sr. and Ruth E. (Gamble) Rollins and his sister, Marcia Rollins of Boxford.
