GILFORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE - Mr. Arthur L. Walker, Jr. 91, of Gilford, NH, formerly of Salem, beloved husband of the late Helen (Lubas) Walker, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on January 31st, 2023.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur and Theresa (Cadegan) Walker. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School.

An honorably discharged veteran, Arthur was a proud member of the United States Navy, serving in Korea on the USS Romulus. Following his discharge from the Navy, Arthur embarked on a long career as a machinist at GTE Sylvania for over 39 years until the time of his retirement.

Arthur and his beloved wife, Helen moved to Troy, Maine to their newly built log cabin in the woods, where they spent many happy years, gardening and getting together with their neighbors. After Helen's passing, he moved to Lake Shore Park in Gilford, NH to be close to his family. There he stayed active, going for walks and out to dinner with his many friends. His favorite activities included wood working and wood carving, in which he excelled at.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life, and he looked forward to their many visits. He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.

Surviving Arthur is his daughter, Susan Glenn and her husband, Michael, his two sons, Dana Walker and his wife, Elaine, and Steven Walker and his wife, Susan, his two grandchildren, Kara Walker and Rebecca McLaughlin and five great-grandchildren, Ben and Emily McKiernan, William, Lily and Brady McLaughlin. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Helen and his sister, Maxine Hopkins.

ARRANGEMENTS: His Funeral Mass will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Margin St., Peabody on Friday, May 19th at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
