SALEM – Mrs. Barbara R. (Ambrose) Allen 84, of Beverly, formerly of Salem, beloved wife of the late Charles O. Allen, died peacefully, Saturday, December 16th, 2023 at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation in Danvers.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Charles O. and Florence (Remon) Ambrose. She was raised and educated in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School.

As a young woman, Barbara had been employed with the General Electric Company. Upon starting a family, she focused her love and attention to raising her children and providing a warm and loving home for her family.

Barbara supported her husband in his professional career and for many years provided child care to all the families while they enjoyed bowling at Danvers / Sunnyside Bowl-A-Drome. She enjoyed bingo, her television stories, bowling and spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her children, Donald Allen and his companion, Kimberly Foss of Salem, Thomas Allen of Beverly, Robin Eliuk and her husband, Walter of Florida and Amy Allen of Florida, her grandchildren, Donald Allen Jr and Christine and Julie Eliuk, her siblings, Gordon Ambrose, Eleanor Grimes, Patricia Belanger and Lucy Ouellette and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Charles and Hattie Ambrose.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM, Thursday, December 21st at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 A.M.
