SALEM - Miss Barbara Nowak, 91 of Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at her home.

Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Wraga) Nowak. She was raised and educated in Salem and attended Salem Public Schools. Professionally Barbara had been employed as an Assembler, first with CBS Hytron and later for GTE Sylvania for several years.

Fun loving, outgoing and very social, Barbara was interested in everything and everyone. She enjoyed making new friends and could start up a conversation with anyone, immediately putting them at ease. Barbara was devoted to her sister, Bella who was her constant companion. They loved to travel together, attend the Salem Senior Center together and garden. They travelled throughout the United States and Canada and never missed the monthly trip to the casino. They were instrumental in the community garden at Endicott Park in Danvers. Barbara loved her cats, was an avid reader and loved a good shopping trip. Barbara will be forever remembered for her love of family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Surviving Barbara are her nieces, Lucille St Cyr and her husband, Willard "Will" St Cyr, of Salem and Carol Hanlon of North Carolina, and her grand-nephews, Mark and Christopher St Cyr. She was also the sister of the late Bella Nowak, Rose Kowalski, Alice Pelletier, Edward Nowak and Henry Nowak.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service which will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Wednesday, October 25th, at 11 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.  A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10 to 11 A.M.
