Bernard Brian
Harlow
March 28, 1949 – June 17, 2024
BEVERLY – Mr. Bernard Brian Harlow 75, of Beverly, died peacefully, Monday, June 17th, 2024 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in Zion, Illinois, he was the son of the late Willard and Arlyn (Hoyt) Harlow. He was raised and educated in Zion, IL and was a graduate of Zion-Benton High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart for Valor.
Mr. Harlow had been employed with Endicott College for over 40 years. A beloved member of the Endicott community, Mr. Harlow wore many professional hats during his tenure. He was on the forefront of Information Technology and helped implement their first computer system. His co-workers were near and dear to his heart, as is Endicott College, a place that felt like home to him. He will be missed immensely by the entire college community.
Bernie was a loving father, companion and friend. With an outgoing and endearing personality, he made friends easily. These friends so enjoyed spending time with him, from outings to dinners and events, and Bernie relished the time spent with his large circle of friends. He will be fondly remembered and forever missed.
Bernard is survived by his son, Brian Harlow-Jennings and his husband, Christopher of West Orange, New Jersey, his grandchildren, Faith and Xavier Harlow-Jennings, his sisters, Laura Sooley and her husband, Jim of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas and Jayne Rendall of Winthrop Harbor, IL, several nieces and nephews, and his long-term partner, Cheryl McLaughlin. He was the brother of the late Wayne Harlow.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his Celebration of Life Service which will be held at First Baptist Church, Beverly, 221 Cabot Street, Beverly, MA on August 2nd, 2024 at 11 A.M. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS.
