SALEM – Mrs. Cara E. (Richards) Coddens, 75 of Salem, the loving wife of the late Steven Coddens, passed away on Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at Alliance Health at Rosewood in Peabody, with family by her side.
Born in Beverly, Cara was the daughter of Priscilla (Summit) Wallace and the late John H. Richards. She was raised and educated in Beverly, graduating from Beverly High School.
Cara devoted her professional career to the Essex County District Attorney's office where she retired as a Victim and Witness advocate.
Cara found great joy and peace in her garden and loved her cat, Winnie. She was well-liked for her playful spirit, sense of humor and quick wit. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her mother, Priscilla; Cara is survived by her, son, Matthew Richards; her grandchildren and great-grandchild; her siblings, John Richards, Linda Richards, Cynthia DeFeo, Susan Cosimelli and Robert Smith. In addition to her loving husband, Steven, Cara was pre-deceased by her daughters, Gina Michetti and Callie Jo Patenaude.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Cara's funeral service which will be held graveside at Central Cemetery, 60 Hale St., Beverly on Thursday, January 9th at 11 A.M.
