IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carl A.
"Bud" Goodwin
June 18, 1939 – July 17, 2024
BEVERLY – Mr. Carl A. "Bud" Goodwin, 85 of Beverly formerly of Middleton and Seabrook, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, at Alliance Health at Rosewood in Peabody with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of the late Miriam Love (Harris) Goodwin with whom he shared over 60 years of happy marriage.
Born in Norway, Maine, Carl, lovingly known as "Bud" was the son of the late Robert and Carlene (Gammon) Goodwin. He was raised and educated in Middleton.
Professionally, Bud was a man of many skills, a hard and honest worker who loved to help others. As a young man, he worked alongside his father as a Hood Milk delivery man and later in life as a factory worker, truck driver, prison guard and later in life a companion aide for group home residents. Through all his professions, Bud was true to himself, living each day with great integrity and respect.
A loving and devoted family man, Bud always put his family first. Together, Bud and Miriam raised a family of four boys and watched their family grow. Growing up in poverty, Bud strived to provide a better life for his family to afford them opportunities that he never had. His greatest joy was watching the family he created thrive in life. As he was passionate about his family, he loved the simple life of collecting coins and cowboy hats and traveling to many places with his family in tow. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bud is survived by his sons; John R. Goodwin and his wife, Sally of Londonderry, NH, Richard G. Goodwin and his wife, Valerie of Barrie, VT, Edward A. Goodwin and his wife, Gina of Lynnfield and William D. Goodwin and his wife, Michelle of Derry, NH; his many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Goodwin of RI and several nieces and nephews.
