Mr. Carlos V. Cunha, 55 of Haverhill, died April 26th, 2014 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was the beloved husband of Ellen (Perakis) Cunha.

Born in Africa, he was the son of Laurieno and Luzia (Picanco) Cunha. He was raised in Africa and resided there for the first ten years of his life until moving to the Azores in Portugal where he and his family resided until the age of 16 at which time he and his family immigrated to the United States.

Carlos was the proprietor of the former Staggerlees Restaurant in Methuen. Currently he was employed with Schultc Personal LLC.

A loving husband, father, son and brother, Carlos was a member of the Portuguese Club in Peabody and Lawrence. He had a true passion for playing, coaching and watching soccer. He was an outstanding soccer player dominating the pitch throughout his life. He relished the opportunity to share his passion for soccer with others through the medium of coaching. He enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending time with his family. He will be always loved and deeply missed.

Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Ellen (Perakis) Cunha of Haverhill, his beloved son, Jonathan Perakis Cunha of Haverhill, his dear mother, Luzia Cunha of Peabody, his dedicated sister, Maria Tusinski and her husband Stan Jr.of Groveland, his devoted brothers, Victor Cunha of Peabody and James Cunha and his fiancé Heather Smith of Peabody and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Laurieno Cunha.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral will be held from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, Thursday, May 1st at 9:15 A.M. followed by his funeral Mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody, at 10 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours Wednesday, April 30th from 4 to 8 P.M.
