TOPSFIELD - Ms. Carol (Oberti) Grove 60 of Topsfield, died unexpectedly, Thursday, January 17th, 2019 at her home. Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late John Jr. and Mary (Paris) Oberti. She was raised and educated in Boxford and was a graduate of Masconomet High School, class of 1976. She continued her education attending the University of Connecticut. A loving mother, Carol was devoted to her family first and foremost. She dedicated her life to providing a wonderful and warm home for her loved ones. She was born to be a mother and lived her life for others. She was family oriented in every way. She loved family get togethers and especially enjoyed the holiday season as she was always surrounded by her loved ones. Carol had a curious mind and explored many interesting subjects throughout her life. An avid reader, she was a linguist and mastered speaking multiple languages fluently. She loved photography and pictures of her children were always on display in her home. Ms. Grove's heart was immense and a large portion of it was given to animals and four legged family members. Her canine companions brought great joy to her life over the years and she passed her love of animals on to her children. She was kind, loving, generous, always thinking of others, had a sweet tooth like no other and had a great sense of humor. She will be remembered for her love of her children and her granddaughter, her ability to make others laugh, her dedication to her siblings, and her courage to advance through any hurdle. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will forever be remembered. Carol is the mother of the late Michael Grove and is survived by her daughter, Shannon Grove of North Andover, her son, Barry Grove and his wife Michelle of Hixson, TN, her granddaughter and apple of her eye, Lilly Grove, her siblings, John Oberti and his wife Janet of Litchfield, Anne Oberti of North Dighton, Ellen Casey and her husband William of Topsfield, many nieces, nephews, her aunt, Carol Charest of Manchester, NH and extended family.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be held in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield, Saturday, January 26th at 10 AM. Interment in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Danvers. There will be no visiting hours. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) Danvers, MA. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Carol's memory to McKamey Animal Center, 4500 N. Access Rd., Chattanooga, TN 37415.
