MARBLEHEAD - Carolyn (Marquis) Ganglani, 73, of Marblehead, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Hathorne Hill, Danvers, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Lionel and Emma (Czosek) Marquis. She was raised and educated in Marblehead and was a graduate of Marblehead High School, Class of 1961.
Well known in the community as the Proprietor of Marquis Insurance Agency, where she worked until her retirement in 2010, Carolyn made countless friends through her work with her warm personality and sincere interest in other people's lives. She was always there to support them and they knew she could be counted on in their time of need.
A life-long resident of the Town of Marblehead, Carolyn enjoyed reading and knitting and often generously gifted her work to family and friends. A loving and supportive mother and grandmother, family was her true passion. She was delighted to be involved in their milestones and was very proud of their many accomplishments. She will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Kamilla Lavoie and her husband Robert of Salem, Sham Ganglani and his wife Zoe of Mansfield and Sunder Ganglani of Brooklyn, NY, her grandson, Archie Lavoie of Salem, and sisters, Janice Fearn and her husband Allan of Shrewsbury and Brenda Sullivan and her husband Bernard of Camden, ME, grand-dogs, Winnie, Atticus and Radley as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Marquis and her former husband Sunder K. Ganglani.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Service will be held in The O'Donnell Funeral Home, 46 Washington Sq. (at Salem Common) Salem on Friday, March 17th at 10:00 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday,March 16th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Carolyn's memory to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
