DANVERS - Mrs. Carolyn Fine (née Wickeri) of Danvers peacefully departed to her heavenly home on February 28th, 2024 after a year in hospice care. She was 76 years old.

Carolyn was born and raised in Leominster, MA, where she graduated from high school with honors. She earned her nursing degree at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg and worked as a nurse in the ICU and operating rooms at Salem Hospital for many years. She met her husband, William (Bill) Fine, while he was stationed at Fort Devens, and the two fell in love first with each other, and then with the quiet woods of Boxford. They built their home in Boxford from the ground up – with Carolyn herself wielding a chainsaw to clear land – and they forged a life together there for over thirty years until Bill's passing in 2012.

As a youth, Carolyn loved roller skating, horseback riding, swimming, and working on her aunt and uncle's farm in western Massachusetts. She and Bill enjoyed dancing, and also loved to visit the local farms in the area. After Bill's passing, Carolyn enjoyed maintaining their lovely property, crafting, going to church, and caring for her beloved German shepherd, "Baby Jessy." A lifelong follower of Christ, she was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Topsfield. Until her last few weeks of life Carolyn would hum along to "Amazing Grace" and try to recite the Lord's Prayer, even though illness had robbed her of memory and speech.

Carolyn is predeceased by both her parents, Harold and Elvira Wickeri, and her husband, Bill. The friends whose lives she touched will treasure her memory, and her loved ones especially thank the staff of the Atrium at Veronica Drive and Care Dimensions for their skilled and compassionate care.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carolyn's funeral service which will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 478 Boston Street, (old Rte. 1A) Topsfield on Tuesday, March 5th at 10:30 A.M. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, 357 Main St., Leominster. Assisting with the arrangements is O'Donnell Cremations - Funerals - Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (rte 62) DANVERS.
