LANESVILLE - Mrs. Catherine (Tierney) Doughty of Lanesville (formerly Salem, Danvers and Fort Collins, CO), devoted wife of David G. Doughty Jr., passed away following a brief illness on October 3, 2017. She was 61.
Born in Salem, Cathy was the daughter of the late Albert R. and Doris H. (Gelineau) Tierney. She was a 1974 graduate of the accelerated program at Salem High School where she was a National Merit Scholar, and earned her Business degree at Salem State College. Upon retiring from banking in 1997, Cathy and her husband David traveled the world together. She was loved and greatly respected by those with whom she became involved, especially her husband of 31 years. Tierney of Salem; step-son, Matthew Doughty and his wife Michelle; step-daughter Megan Doughty and her companion Adam Medlyn; niece, Kristin M. Collins and husband Brian of Wakefield; nephew, James M. Tierney and wife Amy of Melrose; step-grandchildren, Cady, Cirie and Aeris; several great-nieces and nephews and friends too numerous to count. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Doris Tierney, and her brother Michael A. Tierney.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service which will be held in the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers on Saturday, October 14th at 10 A.M. As requested by the family, there will be no visiting hours and burial is private. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Cathy's name to the Michael A.
