SALEM – Cecelia Ann (Bookholz) Jodrie, 85, of Salem, beloved wife of the late Richard A. Jodrie, Sr., passed away at Kaplan Family Hospice house on December 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Jane (Czuchra) Bookholz.

Cecelia was raised and educated in Salem, she attended the Phillips School and was a graduate of Salem High School, C/O 1958. She was a lifelong resident of Salem who devoted her life to her family and community. Cecelia worked at Dutchess Shoe and later as a cook at Lafayette NH in Newhall, NH. She also worked alongside Rich, painting and wallpapering which they both enjoyed very much.

For 15 years, Cecelia lived on Winter Island while her husband, Rich, was employed by the City of Salem as the caretaker of Winter Island, a position he held until his retirement in 1997. Above all, Cecelia loved spending time grilling, fishing, boating, and clam digging with her family at Winter Island.

As a young woman, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Polish club on Derby Street in Salem where she was famous for her Golumpki, which sold out fast. Cecelia found joy in life’s simple pleasures, she loved picking up her favorite takeout meals, spending weekends browsing yard sales, and visiting local farmers markets. She especially enjoyed the sense of community these outings brought and had a knack for finding both good conversation and hidden treasures along the way.

In addition to her parents, Cecelia is predeceased by her husband of nearly 55 years, Richard A. “Big Rich” Jodrie, her brother, Edward Bookholz, and a niece.

Cecelia is survived by four children, Ann Marie Coogan and her husband Robert of Lynn, Richard A. Jodrie, Jr. and his wife Tina of Salem, Cherly Wilson of Peabody, and Donna Perry and her husband David Sr. of Danvers, her grandchildren, Jonathan, Melissa, Stephanie, Renee, Marie, and David Jr., 8 great grandchildren, two nieces, and one nephew.

ARRANGEMENTS: At Cecelia’s request, all services will be held privately. Assisting the family with the arrangements is O’Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple Street, DANVERS.
