Obituary

BEVERLY - Chad Michael Soucy, 48, of Beverly, MA, originally of Peabody, passed away on April 8, 2025. Chad was born on July 16, 1976 in Salem, MA to the late Paul and Marlene (Viselli) Soucy. He graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1994 with an additional certificate in Electronics and later received a certificate in Recording Arts from Northeast College of Communication.

As a child, Chad played Little League Baseball and was active throughout his youth in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed camping, hiking, fishing and playing guitar. During middle school and high school Chad played guitar in many rock band lineups with his tight knit group of friends. He later joined the Boston based band, Gage, as their guitarist in the band's early 2000's lineup. Largely a self-taught musician, Chad started his musical career playing violin in grade school before picking up the guitar in middle school. Inspired early on by the music of Jimi Hendrix, Aerosmith, Joe Satriani and Yngwie Malmsteen, Chad saved his allowance to buy his first guitar, spending hours each day learning to play guitar mostly by ear. His musical talent was fostered by the support and free exchange of ideas among his musician friends as well as his older cousin, Glen Lewis, who also played guitar. Chad was greatly respected and admired for his technically proficient (aka rippin') guitar playing, as well as his funny, kind and deeply humble personality.

Professionally, Chad worked within the service industry while pursuing music on the side. Most notably, from 2008 to 2012 he worked for Photogenic, Inc as a photographer and manager in both their Boston, MA and Norfolk, VA locations. For over twenty years, Chad struggled with chronic severe low back pain following a car accident and resulting back surgery that occurred in his early 20's.

Chad will be deeply missed and is survived by his sister, Michelle N. Soucy, his brother-in-law, Bhaird Campbell and his niece, Mai E. Campbell all of Stow MA, as well as numerous cousins and close friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Marlene F. (Viselli) Soucy and his father, Paul L. Soucy, both of Peabody, MA.
