DANVERS – Mr. Charles R. Heaphy, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Ruth McLain Hospice Home in Braintree. Born in Beverly, he was the son of the late Robert P. and Evelyn L. (Clewes) Heaphy. Charles was the loving husband of Marie A. (Lamoureaux) Heaphy, with whom he celebrated 53 years of marriage.

Mr. Heaphy served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War. Upon his discharge he began raising his family in Danvers. He began his career with the US Postal Service in 1963 as a postal clerk, and retired in 1993. Charles served his country and community proudly and was a member of the Masons.

A thrill seeker at heart, Charles enjoyed NASCAR, local New England racing, and taking rides on his motorcycle. Aside from the excitement of fast engines, Charles loved spending time with his family- especially camping. Numerous memories throughout the years were made around the campfire.

In addition to his beloved wife, Marie, Charles is survived by his daughter Jeanine L. Hopkins and her husband Brian of Weymouth, and his son Charles W. MacKinnon and his wife Mayette of Hooksett, NH, his grandchildren; Brian, Charles, Felicia, Ryan, and Crystal, and great-grandchildren; Jayden and Lucas. Charles is preceded in death by his brother Thomas Heaphy.

ARRANGEMENTS – His funeral service will be held at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 167 Maple St., (Rte. 62) DANVERS on Wednesday, March 1st at 12 P.M. Visiting hours will be held from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Burial in Wenham Cemetery, Main Street (Rte 1A) Wenham, MA.
