MIDDLETON - Mr. Charles C. "Neil" O'Keefe 69, of Middleton, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Beverly Hospital. Born in Salem August 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Charles T. and Mary E. (Buckley) O'Keefe. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of the former St. James School in Salem. He continued his education graduating in 1966 from Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody. He was a lifelong learner taking course at Babson College and Northeastern University. Known to family and friends as Neil, he started working for the Telephone Company in 1967, joined the United States Marine Corps in 1968 and served his country in Vietnam in 1968 and 1969 until his honorable discharge. He returned to work for the telephone company until the time of his retirement in 2002 following 35 years of dedicated work in his industry. During his career he had worked as an outside technician and later as a supervisor and consultant in the telecommunications field. A member of the Elks Lodge 1409 of Peabody for over 40 years, Neil enjoyed playing golf for most of his life and was a member of Wenham Country Club for many years. Neil is survived by his brother Timothy O'Keefe and his wife Ann-Marie of Peabody, his niece and god daughter Sarah O'Keefe of Salem and many cousins, extended family and friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass which will be held in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, North St., Salem/Peabody line, on Wednesday, May 2nd at 11 A.M. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. As requested visiting hours omitted. Assisting the family with the arrangements is the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, 167 Maple St., (rte. 62) Danvers. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made in Neil's memory to Bishop Fenwick High School, 99 Margin St., Peabody, MA 01960.
