SALEM - Mrs. Christine E. "Chrissy" (Powers) O'Donnell 46, of Salem, beloved wife of 12 years to John G. O'Donnell, died Friday evening, January 7th, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family following a long courageous battle with triple negative breast cancer.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of Frances E. (Melanson) Powers of Beverly and the late Thomas R. Powers. She was predeceased by her sister, Kathleen (Powers) Harrison. Christine is also survived by the loves of her life and the reason to fight the fight, her twin daughters, Rachael Ann and Alaina Elizabeth O'Donnell, both of Salem, her mother's companion of over twenty years, Thomas Collins of Quincy, her sister-in-law, Kathleen (O'Donnell) French and her husband, William of Salem, her brother-in-law, Philip O'Donnell and his wife, Sandra of Salem, her sister-in-law, Deborah (O'Donnell) O'Leary and her husband Eric of Peabody, her niece, Elizabeth O'Leary of Peabody and her nephew, Peter O'Donnell of Salem.

Christine graduated from Beverly High School, class of 1982, Marion Court Junior College of Business and Bentley College. She began her professional career in Law, working her way up from Receptionist to Office Manager for the Law Offices of Murphy, Ryan and O'Keefe from 1984 until 1993. Since that time until present day, she has been employed with the Peabody District Court as an Office Manager and from 2006 until present day she was a Bail Commissioner for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Peabody and Lynnfield jurisdictions.

Chrissy enjoyed motorcycling, reading and was an avid exercise and health enthusiast. Above all else she loved spending time with her husband, daughters and close family and friends at their camp at Powderhorn, Old Orchard Beach in Maine.

Christine was grateful for the days given her in this life. She was especially grateful and thankful for the outpouring of love and support she received not only from her immediate family but by neighbors, friends and especially her extended family at the Peabody District Court and the Peabody and Lynnfield Police Departments. Under the heart wrenching circumstances there was no other people or place she would rather have shared the end of her life with. She will be greatly missed.
