BEVERLY – Ms. Colleen Marie Reddy, 73 of Beverly, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at Beverly Hospital, due to complications from an illness.
Born in Salem, Colleen was the daughter of the late Francis and Gloria (Condon) Reddy. She grew up in Salem and attended St. Thomas Grammar School and was a graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School, class of 1968.
Throughout her life, Colleen excelled in accounting, administration and management, working for the New England Telephone Company, Joe Green Insurance and Sam's Cleaners.
Above all else, Colleen devoted herself to her family, whether it was her own children or her nieces and nephews that she loved as her own, Colleen was a present, caring and nurturing woman who always put her family's needs before her own. In retirement, she loved being a grandmother to her only granddaughter, finding serenity at the beach and expressing herself through beautiful arts and painting. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Colleen is survived by her children, Katherine Carr of Beverly, Erin Carr of Marblehead and Maurice Carr, IV of Marblehead; her granddaughter, Gloria Marie Carr; her sister, Shannon M. Reddy and her husband, Leonard Hughes; her brothers, Philip Reddy and his wife, Berta and Thomas Reddy, many nieces and nephews and former spouse, Maurice Carr, III. In addition to her parents, Colleen was predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Robert, Francis, John and William Reddy.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are invited to attend Colleen's funeral Mass which will be held at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin St., Peabody on Thursday, October 26th at 10 A.M. (Please meet directly at the church). Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours at O'Donnell Cremations – Funerals – Celebrations, 84 Washington Sq., (at Salem Common) SALEM on Tuesday, October 24th from 5 to 7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations in Colleen's memory may be made to Aftermath Addiction Treatment Center, 607 North Avenue Suite 11E, Wakefield MA 01880.
