SALEM – Mr. Conrad Anthony Correnti 92, of Salem, beloved husband of 42 years to the late Christine Ann (Papoleas) Correnti, died peacefully, April 22nd, 2026 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers with his family by his side.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Rizzotti) Correnti. He was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School, Class of 1950. Conrad was a member of the Varsity Football team, famously part of the squad that triumphed over an undefeated Beverly on Thanksgiving Day in 1949 — a memory he cherished throughout his life.
An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country as a member of the United States Navy aboard U.S.S 701.
After returning from his military service, he worked in construction and contributed to the formation of the Salem Power Plant before embarking on a long and distinguished career with the United States Postal Service. After many years as a dedicated letter carrier, he was appointed to Facilitator, a position he held for his final ten years at the Post Office. A staunch advocate for his colleagues, he was a proud member and former President of the local chapter of the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC).
A lifelong resident of the city of Salem, Conrad was devoted to his family and was a constant presence in his children’s lives. He was an active dad and involved in all of their many activities. Coaching and managing the Salem Little League “Eagles” allowed him to mentor not only his children but many others through the years. His passion for golf was more than just a hobby; he was a true enthusiast, who crafted his own clubs and taught his family how to play. A familiar face at Olde Salem Greens for the past 65 years, he was a member and past president of numerous golf leagues. He would play every day if the weather would allow. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and rarely missed a game. He enjoyed following all of the Boston Sports teams with great enthusiasm.
Conrad took immense pride in his Italian heritage and was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Mary’s Italian Church in Salem. As a past President and member of the Christopher Columbus Society, he, along with many friends and relatives, was instrumental in the club’s revitalization during the 1960s.
Yet, above all his civic and professional achievements, family remained his proudest accomplishment. He was happiest when surrounded by those he loved, whether traveling to Italy, wintering in Florida, or simply enjoying a family gathering in Salem, he never missed a chance to shower his family with love and support. He will be deeply missed.
Conrad is survived by his daughter, Pamela Correnti and partner, Kathy O’Brien of Lynn, his sons, Attorney Joseph C. Correnti and Teresa of Salem and Richard Correnti and Lee-Ann of Sarasota, Fl., his grandchildren, Anthony Conrad Correnti and fiancé Alexandra Berent, Amanda Patrick and her husband Albert, Elizabeth Teal and her husband John, Nicholas Correnti and wife Charlene, Elizabeth Roesler, and Luke Roesler, his 2 great grandchildren, Albert Joseph “AJ” Patrick and Isla Grace Teal. He is also survived by his siblings, Nancy Drinkwater of Swampscott, Carmello “Carmen” Correnti of Salem, Linda Murphy and her husband John of Salem, and Joseph Correnti and his wife Kate of Salem in addition to many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. He was the brother of the late Theresa (Correnti) Boucher.
