IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Constance A.
Archis
August 14, 1929 – August 8, 2024
SALEM – Costance A. Archis peacefully entered eternal rest, following a brief illness at Salem Hospital on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 just shy of her 95th birthday. Born in Salem to the late Joseph and Valeria (Rostkowska) Archis, she was a graduate of Salem High School and attended Salem State College.
Connie's younger years were spent in New York City, where she was a student at the School of American Ballet, and a professional model. For several years, she was one of the faces of Polaroid. She then worked as an office manager in publishing, and as a test technician for Compugraphics.
She was passionate about the experiences that added richness and color to her life, including music, books, the performing arts, family and Salem history. Connie loved the BSO and WGBH and the Met Opera Broadcasts. She was an early supporter and docent for the Peabody Essex Museum.
In addition to her parents, Connie is predeceased by her brothers, John, Alfred, Augustus and Ron, her sisters, Emma Iwanowicz and Viola Wisnewski, and her nephew, Richard Iwanowicz. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; Blaise Archis, Cathy Archis, Chris Archis, Jackie Archis, Larry Archis, Paul Archis, Janine Burnes, Valerie Roberts and sister-in-law Rita Archis.
She will be missed for her feisty spirit, wit and intelligence. May she rest in peace.
